Born in a yurt and living without electricity until the age of 8, Mariah has always had a close relationship with the outdoors. Her first rafting experience was during a camping trip in the Cascades with her dad and she signed up for guide training after a week-long adventure on the Deschutes River where her guide couldn’t stop talking about how great his job was! She’s adventured through Costa Rica, Mexico, Belize, and Chile on her own and is now studying Marine Biology at Western Washington University. Mariah says that she loves the diversity of the rivers she gets to run and is particularly nostalgic about a day she spent exploring the natural waterslides of the White River. On days off, you’re still likely to find Mariah beside a river - hiking, reading a book, or showing off her juggling skills.
