Clark Fork River Rafting

For a fantastic day of Montana whitewater rafting fun look no further than the Alberton Gorge section of the Clark Fork River. This whitewater rafting day trip in Western Montana just outside of Missoula, is a big volume, big ride river with a lot of roller coaster waves, and intermediate (Class II-III) whitewater rafting. You'll bounce through rapids with names like Boat Eater, Fang, Cliffside, and Tumbleweed on the family-friendly Clark Fork River.

Well isolated from any roads, the Alberton Gorge of the Clark Fork flows through a deep canyon with dramatic rose-colored cliffs. Between the whitewater sections are calm stretches that are perfect for swimming or just sitting back, relaxing, and watching the spectacular mountain scenery pass you by. Warm water and quiet pools between rapids make this a perfect family rafting trip.

When you go rafting on the Clark Fork, you're likely to see dozens of birds, including osprey, mergansers, and, if we're lucky, maybe some Harlequin Ducks. Deer, elk, and beaver are also common. Along the way, our guides will share some of the river's history. Named after William Clark of the Lewis & Clark expedition, the Clark Fork River's headwaters are in the Beaverhead and Rocky Mountains near Butte, Montana, where the Native American tribes called it the 'Arrowhead' River due to a semi-transparent stone found nearby that was used to make arrowheads.

We use 13' paddle rafts on this whitewater rafting day trip, so everyone becomes a participant. Each raft has a professional guide who teaches you how to paddle. As a team, you'll navigate the whitewater together. If you would rather let us do the rowing, we can bring an oar-powered raft along with room for 3-4 people (by request only).

We invite you to bring your friends, your church group, club, or the whole family for a whitewater rafting trip you'll never forget.

Please call (208) 770-2517 to inquire or book this trip.

It was fun for me to see our youth expand their comfort zones..

We brought our youth group here on our way home from our Mission Trip. Several of our high school students were very nervous about rafting, but the guides were incredible. They got everyone comfortable in the rafts and made it a memorable experience for everyone. The shore lunch was delicious, the rapids were marvelous, and we even did some cliff jumping too. It was fun for me to see our youth expand their comfort zones while still being incredibly safe and cared for!

We’ll definitely be back!

My niece and I went rafting with ROW Adventures — a trip my grandpa, who rows all the time with this amazing company, booked for us — and we had the most unforgettable time. We were the only girls in a group full of dads and sons, and the entire crew made us feel right at home. The energy was fun, welcoming, and empowering from the moment we arrived. Our guide, Beck, was amazing — super knowledgeable, quick-thinking, and clearly passionate about what he does. Within the span of just half an hour, he jumped into action to assist another rowing group not once, but twice. He handled everything so quickly and smoothly, it made us feel even safer and more impressed with the whole operation. On top of all that, everyone made sure my niece had a blast. She even got to guide one of the other boats with Josie, one of the awesome guides, and hasn’t stopped talking about it since. Brooke was also incredibly sweet with her — even letting her playfully pull her off the raft, which made her feel so strong and included! I can’t remember the names of the other guides off the top of my head, but they were just as kind, fun, and made us feel completely at home. Thank you, ROW Adventures, for giving us such a fun, adventurous, and confidence-boosting day on the water. We’ll definitely be back!

We will definitely be doing this again…

Me and my 12-year-old daughter had a fantastic time floating the Clark Fork River With Row adventure. Our Guide Alden, the alpaca, Was very knowledgeable, an expert In his field. Josie the other guide, she was wonderful too, and her dog shadow helped us check in. And I hope shadow makes it to the Olympics. This is a test run with my daughter. We are floating Rogue river for a three day rafting trip In August through Row adventure. Thank you for the wonderful experience. We will definitely be doing this again…
