Melanie Pareti
River Guide
Originally from Vernon, New Jersey, Melanie began guiding after graduating from the College of William & Mary with a degree in Kinesiology and quickly realized life on the river was exactly where she belonged. She has guided on rivers across West Virginia, Colorado, and the Grand Canyon, and has spent many seasons on Idaho’s Middle Fork of the Salmon. Melanie also guides in Costa Rica on the Pacuare River.
Melanie especially loves sharing the rugged wilderness of the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness with guests and watching how the Middle Fork changes throughout the season. Around camp she’s known for baking Dutch oven cakes and creating a welcoming atmosphere after a great day on the water. When she’s not guiding, she enjoys traveling somewhere warm or camping out of the back of her truck in search of the next great river.
