Montana Conservation License Now Required
We want to inform you of a new requirement for any trips taking place on Montana state-managed lands: all participants are now required to obtain a Montana Conservation License.
Please note that this license is not included in your trip registration. We kindly ask that you secure your license prior to your adventure, and carry it with you while recreating, as required by state regulations.
Why it matters:
Your license fee directly supports the protection and stewardship of Montana’s stunning natural spaces. It also helps fund Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, local institutions, and even K-12 public schools—so your contribution truly makes a difference.
Thank you for helping us protect the places we all love to explore. If you have any questions or need help navigating the process, don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to help!

The purpose of this license is to help cover the rising costs of caring for these areas, which have seen increased maintenance needs due to growing recreational use.
