On this superb adventure combination trip in Idaho and Montana you have three distinct days of adventure. While the exact order may vary depending on the date of your departure, each day will be one of your favorite adventure memories. The rafting trip takes place on Montana's Clark Fork River. Named after William Clark of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, you paddle through the Alberton Gorge of the Clark Fork aboard a 14' paddle raft where everyone participates. Or, if you prefer, paddle your own inflatable kayak! The river has fun class II-III rapids and flows through a spectacular and roadless canyon. Your day of biking is on the legendary Hiawatha Trail. This is perhaps the most dramatic "rails-to-trails" ride in the entire USA. Our 15-mile ride takes you through no fewere than seven tunnels (the longst is 1.7 miles) and over numerous trestles that span forested canyons. Pedaling through the heart of the Bitterroot Mountains, few bike tours are better than this! Whether you're a novice fly fisher or an expert who just wants to benefit from the knowledge of our professional fishing guides, your day fishing the St. Joe will be a day spent in fishing paradise. The river is gin-clear and has a absolutely beautiful emerald hue to it. Big cutthroats wait in deep pools. Ending each day back at your comfortable hotel in Wallace makes this a perfect trip, with a nice balance of time with your guide and time to explore on your own. |
