Grande Ronde River - Fly Fishing
Oregon Fly Fishing

Lower Selway River - Fly Fishing in Idaho:
Flowing through the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness Area, ROW guides fly fishing trips on the last 18 miles of the Lower Selway before its confluence with the Middle Fork of the Clearwater River. Fly fisherman recognize the Selway for its protected scenic waters and excellent trout fishing. This river holds many fish in the 16” to 20” range. Fish in this river, like the Clearwater, are aggressive and hungry. It is a truly scenic experience that allows our guests to enjoy top-quality fishing while relaxing in some of the most beautiful country in the United States. Trips run from Memorial Day through mid-July and from August 20th through September. |

Flowing through the Selway-Bitterroot wilderness area the Selway River is one the most protected rivers in Idaho. ROW Fishing Adventures has access to the lower 18 miles of this river until it joins with the Lochsa River. These trips take place from the River Dance Lodge and can be run as single or multiday excursions. This river boasts high fish densities of both rainbows and cutthroat trout and the Selway also has one of the healthiest populations of Bull trout in the state. You can expect lots of dry fly action throughout the season with a variety of different fly patterns. This stretch of river widens and flattens out with a few class II rapids and lots of trout. The Selway river is one of the most sought after scenic river trips in the country. Due to it’s geographic location and limited access, the Selway provides an angler with a feeling of privacy and a chance to throw flies at native fish that receive relatively little pressure. A solid Skwala hatch in May starts off a terrific 4 or 5 month fishing season. Terrestrials, mayflies, stone flies, and stimulators mark the natural progression of hatches through the spring and early summer season. Starting in late August the caddis come on heavy and the peak fishing season ends with a breathtaking October caddis hatch that brings die hard fly fishermen from around the country to the crystal clear waters of the Selway.
