Whitewater Rafting Guide

Born 1985 in Nachadoges, Texas. Guide since 2003: ID, OR, WV, CO, New Zealand. With ROW since 2007
Though Jess was born in Texas she spent most of her formative years growing up on the Snake river in the town Clarkston, Washington. She has fond memories of lassoing a forest service picnic table in the river during the Snake flood of 1997. Jess recently earned a degree in International Conservation and Sustainable Development from Duke University. When Jess joined ROW she was attracted to our focus on interpretation and the natural and cultural history of the areas we work in. Later she commented “I like working for ROW because it is ok to be nerdy!” Some of her other “nerdy” habits include Irish dancing, poetry, and kayaking and along with her expert guiding, she does them all with a smile.
