Kayak Coeur d'Alene | Lake Coeur d'Alene Kayaking

Surrounded by mountains of pine and fir, Lake Coeur d’Alene is what defines this Pacific Northwest paradise and its blue and sparkling waters are the focal point of the community. Kayaking this lake is the best way to explore it's beauty.

Fed by the Wild & Scenic St. Joe River, as well as the Coeur d’Alene and St. Maries rivers, the lake is roughly 25 miles long and boasts 109 miles of shoreline. It is a paddler’s dream! Or even perfect for the fist time visitor using a kayak on Coeur d'Alene.

Join us on a half –day kayak tour to explore one of the dozens of bays on this spectacular lake. Our friendly guides teach you how to paddle, and in no time you’ll be kayaking through some of the region’s most serene and beautiful places.

People enjoy the lake in a variety of ways. Swimming, boating, skiing and sailing are popular activities. Kayaking is becoming more popular and this quiet form of transportation allows for remarkable opportunity for wildlife viewing. As you paddle along, you see the nests of ospreys on old piers and the tops of trees and may see them perform stunning aerial acrobatics as they dive and fish. Deer graze along the shore and muskrats swim among the reeds. Marsh birds including herons and egrets wade as they feed in shallow bays. Every winter bald eagles migrate through the area and stop to feed at Beauty Bay. Some remain year-round and you may also see them as they soar overhead and dive dramatically into the lake to catch fish and feed.

After kayaking in this rich and varied ecosystem, you return with new-found confidence, a rested spirit and unforgettable memories.
